May CDAS Bulletin with Introduction from IACD Regional Director for Europe, Colette McGarva

The May edition of the Community Development Alliance Scotland Bulletin has just been released. Colette McGarva, IACD Regional Director for Europe, has written a special introduction to this month’s bulletin, reproduced below.

Hi everyone

Last month, our Special Bulletin focused on Covid-19 and how our membership organisations and subscriber’s were supporting our most vulnerable communities to enable community cohesion and resilience.

It is unquestionable that Covid-19 presents unprecedented challenges nationally and globally. Displays of collective action by our membership organisations have demonstrated true solidarity resulting in more meaningful partnership working and co-production approaches.

This month, our bulletin will provide information, guidance, advice and support. However, we will also consider how integrity and strong leadership are supporting communities through this pandemic. We must consider social, economic, environmental and physical impact simultaneously: Housing, health and social care, jobs and the environment are co-dependent.

We would like to give a very warm welcome to all our new membership organisations including @TartanJigsaw  and @socialshifters and new subscriber’s and social media followers from Scotland, Ireland, North America and Portugal. Thanks to all our current members for your support and we encourage your continued involvement in order to strengthen our alliance.
We would be grateful if you would forward our bulletin to colleagues, networks and teams in order to raise awareness of our collective action and practice.
Would you like the work of your organisation to feature in next month’s bulletin or be highlighted as a case study on our website ? Is your logo on our membership page?
