Introducing IACD’s Country Correspondent for St Lucia!

We are thrilled to announce the recent appointment of IACD’s first ever Country Correspondent for St Lucia!

Ezra Jn. Baptiste joined IACD in September 2019 and his profile can be read below.

Ezra Jn. Baptiste is a Saint Lucian who is involved in community development at various levels (consultancy research, practice, management, evaluation) in Saint Lucia and a few Eastern Caribbean islands.  Ezra has worked with government agencies with responsibility for implementing the Basic Needs Trust Fund Programme in Grenada and Saint Lucia. He has academic training in social policy and development studies from the University of the West Indies, The London School of Economics and Political Science, and the University of Botswana.

Ezra’s research interests are in social capital and community development related to poverty reduction in rural communities in Saint Lucia and other Eastern Caribbean islands. His main research goal is to influence policy makers of the important and ever increasing role of bonding, bridging, and linking social capital as a social policy best practice to achieve sustainable community development, individual well-being, and wealth creation in resource limited rural communities.  Ezra intends to collaborate with rural youth organizations to help build and strengthen leadership and management capacity. Ezra believes that as CC for IACD, community development efforts in Saint Lucia will receive and international face. Ready to serve country and IACD!
