AGM 2017 AGENDA OUT

Dear IACD members,

Please find the draft agenda for the 2017 IACD Annual General Meeting (AGM), to be held on Wednesday 9th August, 6 a.m. London (BST) Time.

 

                                   AGENDA

  1. Welcome and Introductions (Paul Lachapelle, President)
  2. IACD Member Input (opportunity for any IACD member to provide input on the meeting / Association)
  3. Review of past year, committee reports and updates from Board members:
  • Finance, Fundraising and HR;
  • Policy / International, National and Regional Relations and Networks;
  • Membership, Communications and Marketing;
  • Publications;
  • Training and Professional Development;
  • 2018 International Conference Planning
  1. Board Nominations (new and second term nominations) – details of each nominee will be outlined at the meeting. We received two new nominations and three current Board members are seeking a second term.
  2. Discussion of Annual Plan of Work (2017/18). Please find attached.
  3. Proposal for Executive Committee to Review Articles of Incorporation / Create By-laws
  4. Any Other Business
  5. Date of the 2018 AGM (This will take place at the World Community Development Conference in Ireland).

My apologies for those of you in Western Europe, I appreciate that this is an early start for you. I live in Montana, USA, and for us it will be midnight! But for other regions it will be an easier time and at IACD we try to spread the pain!

But whatever the time locally for you, I really do hope that you will join us for this year’s on-line AGM. As I indicated in my e mail to you recently, and as posted on the IACD Website and Facebook site, this year we are inviting you to a  Zoom AGM meeting.

I can assure you that it’s quite easy, so please don’t be put off by all these numbers. We want to be able to give you different ways to join into the AGM. The format for the AGM will not be over formal. I am keen for members to engage and to ask questions of your Board. We shall broadly follow the agenda below.

You will find a copy of the Draft Auditor’s report for the financial year 2016/17 attached. IACD DRAFT Accounts 2017 This provides information on the core finances of the association, together with a narrative report on what we have been doing during the year IACD Outline 2017-18 workplan. I hope you might be able to read this before the meeting. It is at this AGM that we approve the report following discussion. The financial statements do not include the finances involved in our various partnership conferences, as separate budgets were set up for these which are managed by our partners. We will however be happy to take any questions on these. I am also attaching the outline work plan for 2017/18. This outlines our priorities over the second year of our current 2016-20 Strategic Plan. You will find this on the About page of the website.

 

 

Despite the cartoon, I expect the AGM to last an hour and a half maximum.
