Past President launches russian language version of the International CD Standards

Past President and International Community Development Standards Working Party Chair, Charlie McConnell, formally launched the Russian language version of the International Standards for Community Development Practice at the International Inclusive Communities Pushing the Limits Conference held in October.

IACD Standards Guidance 2018 in Russian

The conference was attended by c300 participants from across post Soviet Union countries and organised by IACD member Inclusive Practices.  Charlie who also spoke at the opening plenary, said that this was the first IACD associated conference that had taken place in one of the post Soviet Union countries and that he hoped that with new members joining from these countries, IACD would have a much higher profile  there and be involved in more activities there. In launching the Standards, Charlie said that following the English language version, which was launched at the WCDC 2018, this was the second translation and that he expected this to be the first of several translations of the Standards, which is the most significant policy initiative from the association in recent years, building upon IACD’s global definition of community development adopted in 2016.
