So how are the Global Goals for Sustainable Development going – Two years on?

It has been almost two years since the Global Goals for Sustainable Development, known also as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by  member countries of the United Nations. At that time IACD committed to support the SDGs as the central platform of our policy into practice strategic plan. Since then we have run two international conferences, several global regional events, run a Side Event at the UN, organised a Practitioner Exchange programme and published two issues of our magazine Practice Insights on the SDGs, emphasising the implications and opportunities for community development practice.

We are very keen to encourage IACD members to share what you are doing locally, nationally and internationally to implement the Goals.  Please send us information on what you are doing, together with illustrations.

This week 44 countries will present their progress at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) at UN Headquarters in New York.  The Forum will bring together member states, civil society including IACD representatives  and other stakeholders to review the successes, challenges and lessons learned on achieving the #GlobalGoals.
