1967: The year of collective action.

Half a century ago, 1967 was the ‘year of flower power; of protests  around the world against the Vietnam War; of the civil rights movement, gay rights, the women’s movement and the rise of organised environmental action; of the emergence of urban community action groups campaigning against top down urban regeneration.   A time also when community development as an emerging area of professional practice and scholarship was beginning to take off in developed countries.
