Goodbye Falkland and thank you

This month we are moving the Association’s HQ from the village of Falkland (pictured) in the Kingdom of Fife to the City of Glasgow. Since IACD transferred its head office to Scotland in 1998, we have had offices in the cities of Edinburgh, Dundee, the village of Falkland and now over to the west to Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow. Members who were able to attend the 2014 international conference will have visited community development projects in the city.

We are moving to locate within the Scottish Community Development Centre, Scotland’s national community development support centre after the AGM.

We would like to express great thanks to the Falkland Estate Trust for housing us at The Stables, where we moved from our Dundee University office in 2004 after securing a grant from the Carnegie Trust which funded our core office and staffing costs until 2012. Our move to Glasgow also sees a farewell to our part time staff there Anna Chworow and Jackie Arreaza.

Charlie McConnell, IACD President, has expressed huge thanks to Anna and Jackie for their contribution towards IACD’s work. Anna was with us for eighteen months and played a central role in organising the recent India Practice Exchange. Jackie has been with IACD for several years as the membership administrator and information officer. We wish them both success in the future. We have appointed an interim administrator Colm Munday, until we appoint a permanent Administrator at the Glasgow office this August. Our new address is

Baltic Chambers, Suite 305, 50 Wellington Street, Glasgow, G2 6HJ, Scotland, UK
