The 2011 IACD Community Leadership Programme is being offered to community development practitioners from around the world in quest for a more meaningful experience of community development in the Indian context.

IACD’s Community Leadership Programme is a unique opportunity to see community development in action. You will travel with two very experienced community development workers and trainers who will share their frameworks and methods of practice with you. You will then see how these methods work in communities – hear stories of community organising in the face of economic, political and cultural change; share in the struggles of communities who have faced natural and man-made disasters and found ways to survive and face immense challenges; sit down with villagers and workers alike and exchange ideas and practices from around the world that have the potential to change lives at a local level. This is travel with a difference – we go behind the scenes of international development processes to explore the realities of community development in urban and rural communities in one of the most diverse and fascinating countries in the world.
