Dundee, Scotland being explored as venue for 2019 international community development conference

The IACD Board has agreed to enter into discussions with IACD member organisation, Dundee City Council, to possibly hold the 2019 international conference in Dundee in North East Scotland. Board members Clare MacGillivray and Colette McGarva will be leading discussions with the City on 21st February. IACD’s international conferences take 18 months to plan. This would be the third time that the international conference will have been held in Scotland, since the association was re-constituted in Scotland in 1998.

IACD President, Paul Lachapelle said that he and the Board were thrilled with the prospect of Dundee hosting the 2019 conference and looked forward to close collaboration with the City Council and other partners in Scotland. There is much to do before the green light is given, but we are hopeful it will.
