Dilemmas Cafe Online: ethical and practical challenges for research in and with communities
In this session we will work in small groups sharing dilemmas relating to specific situations that have arisen in the past or that we are currently facing in relation to our community development related research. Each group will choose one dilemma to work on to draw out the issues at play and possible courses of action. Confidentiality rules will be agreed.
Further details of the Dilemmas Cafe model can be found here. https://www.durham.ac.uk/media/durham-university/research-/research-centres/social-justice-amp-community-action-centre-for/documents/toolkits-guides-and-case-studies/Dilemmas-Cafe-Briefing.pdf
Our focus will be on all research relevant to community development (not just participatory research). Please come with a dilemma you are prepared to share. But don't worry if you don't have one as usually there's plenty to choose from!
This session will be facilitated by Sarah Banks, Durham University, UK with other members of the coordinating group of the Researchers' Forum.
