Join us for a webinar with Patrick Mbullu from the Kombuni Water Development Self-Help Group (KWDSHG), Kenya.

Originally established in 1998 and re-constituted in 2022, KWDSHG operates in a semi-arid area of Makueni County where unreliable rainfall and frequent droughts significantly impact farming livelihoods, contributing to food and water insecurity.

The group brings together 27 active members from five villages in Kee Ward, reaching around 200 beneficiaries. Their work focuses on environmental education, water conservation, climate change mitigation, poverty reduction, and promoting local economic opportunities.

As part of its revival, the group developed a medium-term plan to 2029, setting out ambitions in water and environmental conservation, food security, income generation, and capacity building.
