CBM Guidelines for Planning and Practice: Integrating DIDRR Into Community Development Programmes

These two new publications from CBM offer practical insights into how community development practitioners can integrate disability inclusive disaster risk reduction (DIDRR) into their programmes.

A situation analysis outlines the extent to which DIDRR is infused within Community Based Inclusive Development (CBID) and points out the situations where the process of mainstreaming DIDRR can be facilitated. This mainstreaming will ensure, among other things, greater protection of the gains made in community development programmes.

A major outcome of this study is a new set of guidelines for practice on the mainstreaming of DIDRR in community development: Mainstreaming DIDRR in CBID – Guidance for Planning and Practice.

The guide provides practitioners with twenty action points on how community-based initiatives can become more disaster-aware and begin to mainstream DIDRR. Read the publications here:
