Community Development and Young People — the August 2020 CDAS Bulletin

Putting the Focus on Young People in the Era of COVID-19

IACD is delighted to share the August 2020 Community Development Alliance Scotland Bulletin. This month’s focus is on Young People:

The role of the mentor and prodigy, is one of the most significant and meaningful roles in life.

To what extent have we supported and mentored young people through Covid-19? What has been the impact for them? Are you a young person who would like to learn more about community development?

In our August bulletin, we will highlight some of the opportunities and challenges presented to young people and raise awareness of the great work of some of our membership organisations including Youthlink Scotland, Children in Scotland, See Me Scotland, Scottish Community Development Centre, SURF, Scotland’s Towns Partnership, Youth Scotland, Scottish Recovery Network, CLD Standards Council, BEMIS, Education Scotland and many more.

Students and IACD

The International Association for Community Development is proud to champion the efforts of students around the globe. We support students as they begin their studies in the field by providing them with one year free membership. In addition, student members of IACD have access to a rich network of practitioners, resources, virtual meetings, discounted subscriptions to the Community Development Journal, and they can make their voices heard on a variety of platforms. One such platform is our Membership Blog where students are encouraged to contribute to via essays, short reports, videos, and more.

If you are currently studying toward a degree in community development, sign up for a free IACD membership today!
