Yusuf Bello — The Grassroots Aid Initiative Nigeria

Yusuf wrote to us after reflecting on the events of 2019 in his community. He worked with The Grassroots Aid Nigeria using photographic story-telling on social media to raise donations so communities could secure safe drinking water. He said, “I worked along with some team members at The Grassroots Aid Initiative Nigeria. We provided amenities to people at the rural area, and our work majorly is to give a helping hand to the rural people. This year, we were able to donate two boreholes to some communities such as Asileke, Oyo state in South west Nigeria, a rural community that once depends on one unsafe source water, and Oshin gada Ilorin East Kwara state.  With the help of photography story telling on social media, donors arose and the grassroots aid initiative was able to provide safe borehole water for the community.”

The photographs used on social media are shown below and were provided by Yusuf.
