IACD members get a reduced subscription to the Community Development Journal

Our official partner journal is the Community Development Journal published by Oxford University Press (OUP). All IACD members are eligible for a reduced subscription to the journal. CDJ has its own editorial Board, which is entirely independent of the association. However we do give the journal the first opportunity to publish papers from our conferences.

For over half a century CDJ has been the leading international journal in our field, covering a wide range of topics, reviewing significant developments and providing a forum for cutting-edge debates about theory and practice. It adopts a broad understanding of community development to include policy, planning and action as they impact on the life of communities. They particularly seek to publish critically focused articles which challenge received wisdom, report and discuss innovative practices, and relate issues of community development to questions of social justice, diversity and environmental sustainability. We do encourage members to subscribe.

IACD members need to contact OUP direct to subscribe, saying that you are a member of IACD https://academic.oup.com/cdj/subscribe

50th anniversary

CDJ celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015. To mark this milestone, the journal editors compiled a range of specially curated articles. The first collection features their favourite articles published over the last 50 years, and the special issue reflects on emerging issues in the field.
