The IACD International and National Relations Committee has appointed Middle East Board member Maryam Ahmadian and US Country Correspondent Cindy Banyai as the associations representatives to attend UN meetings and consultations in New York for the next year. Maryam and Cindy will Join President, Paul Lachapelle, Vice Presidents, Anastasia Crickley and John Stansfield and Board member, Tony Kimbowa who works at the U.N. as IACD’s U.N. team.
Over the coming year the focus of our work will continue to be around CD and the Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Compact. Cindy and Maryam will represent IACD at the SDG Day of Action later this month and will work with the U.N. team to plan for an IACD Side Event at the 2019 High Level Political Forum.
