IACD appoints its first Russian Correspondent

We are pleased to announce the appointment of IACD’s first Russian Correspondent. Elena Shomina has had wide experience of international democracy and local government related projects in Russia and Europe for over thirty years and is a professor of political science.  She was a democracy and community  expert with TACIS,  “New Eurasia”, Mott, Friedrich Naumann foundations, USAID. She founded “The Network of Housing enlightenment” and has designed  tools for  involvement of residents in local life.   Her list of publications about  CD in Russia and abroad is extensive. She is a member of CEECN, the leading Russian expert in municipal and community development, founder and the member of the Board of Russian Association of TOS (community based NGOs),  and a founder and Vice-president of the Russian Tenants Association.
