Alongside the World Community Development Conference in Dundee, Scotland next year, the city will be celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Beano comic published by local publisher DC Thompson. For decades British community developers’ (and Eric Clapton’s) much loved read. For those unfamiliar with Dennis the Menace, Minnie the Minx, Desperate Dan, the Bash Street Kids and Lord Snooty and his Pals, the City Art Gallery, to be renamed the McMenace, and numerous statues to these heroes around the city are a not to be missed attraction.
