AGM says farewell to Stewart Murdoch, Vice President.

At the 2015 AGM in Edinburgh, Scotland, where we sadly said farewell to Stewart Murdoch who steps down from the Board after 12 years. Stewart played a central role as treasurer and then Vice President in ensuring the financial sustainability of IACD over several years. Stewart chaired the 2014 Community Is the Answer conference planning committee and the Global Mapping working group that has been trying to gauge the number of CD graduate education and training programmes and National CD networks around the world.

Stewart joined the IACD Board in 2003 and has been one of the leading Board members shaping and sustaining the association’s work for over a decade. The IACD President, Charlie McConnell, presented Stewart with a gift at the AGM.  For several years Dundee City Council provided secretarial support for the association. Stewart is the Director of Cultural Services, which includes responsibility for community development services across the city. He played a lead role in securing UNESCO City of Culture status for the city. We all wish Stewart enormous thanks for the work he has done for IACD.
