We are delighted to announce that Gary Craig has become IACD’s first Global Ambassador. Gary was President of IACD from 1999-2007 and played a central role in rebuilding the association over those years. Gary led the association at several international conferences and was the co-author of the Budapest, Yaoundé and Hong Kong Declarations. Gary is a prolific writer on community development and was for many years the editor of the Community Development Journal.
The world’s first Professor of Social Justice, Gary’s special interests are in race and ethnicity, poverty and inequality, community development, and local governance. The Global Ambassador award was presented to Gary in 2012, in acknowledgement of his work for IACD and his international work around community development and social justice.
