February 2009 IACD Newsletter: Special Issue On Africa

Wangui Karanja is the guest editor of this quarter’s newsletter. Kenyan-born, she lives in Tanzania and has worked in East Africa’s social development sector for the last ten years. In this issue, Wangui highlights how East Africa stands to benefit from a vibrant community development network.

The newsletter features questions, experiences and events that profile the issues development practitioners and organizations are rallying behind. These are part on an on-going effort to address social justice, economic empowerment, sustainable futures and promotion of developmental practices.

Wangui is one of four IACD board members representing Africa. In East Africa, she serves with Alex Ruhunda from Uganda who is also the Association’s current President.
