CDJ News from Mick Carpenter, Editor of Community Development Journal
First, the final issue of Volume 46 is now out and can be accessed at: http://cdj.oxfordjournals.org/content/current. This is a 'bumper' issue with more articles than normal, 12 in total, plus book reviews and free access to French and Spanish abstracts for the whole of 2011, Volume 46. Of particular interest to IACD members will be the 'Reflections' piece by Ingrid Burkett on IACD's 'Appreciating Assets' Report.
However there are many other articles that will be of interest to IACD members, depending on your particular focus. These include a fascinating article by Jill Fraley on the role of maps in community development, an article relevant to IACD's recent Lisbon conference theme by Jenny Onyx and Rosemary Jill Leonard on 'complex systems leadership' in community projects, an article by E. Mitchell Sullivan and colleagues on young people, social policy and communities, an analytical article by Adam Dinham on what constitutes a 'faith community' and a report of grass roots action to protect the course of a river in India.
