Professor Craig is a previous President and current Honourary Ambassador of the International Association for Community Development and the world’s first Professor of Social Justice. He is Head of the Centre for Research in Social Inclusion and Social Justice. His main areas of interest are ‘race’ and ethnicity, poverty and inequality, community development, and local governance.
He is also co-director and Founding Fellow of the Wilberforce Institute for the study of Slavery and Emancipation (WISE), patron Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu. This centre undertook a major series of events in 2007 commemorating the bicentenary of the legislation abolishing the slave trade.
