Shifting Paradigms was published in 2015 based on a research conducted by members of the faculty of Community Development from the College of Social Work and Community Development, University of the Philippines. The research was supported by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Industry Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) in four Yolanda-affected areas in the Philippines.
